REGARDING THE STATE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND OF THIS HOLY FATHER:
 A FEW OF MY COMMENTS, WHICH WILL BE ADDED TO THE HUNDREDS OF OTHER PERSONAL COMMENTS ON THE CHURCH - POSTED UNDER THE RUBRIC "CATHOLIC CHURCH" OVER 25 YEARS. 
 
1) I have followed the life and teachings of Archbishop Chaput for many years, since he was Bishop of Denver, Colorado. An EXCELENT PRIEST who definitely should have been a Cardinal...and perhaps More. 
2) I subscribe to his position for the Church as "One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic" - and the Only True Church.
3) I too have concerns about the off-the-cuff remarks of Pope Francis...including a most recent one about "choosing the lesser of two evils".
4) As one can see from the hundreds of comments I have posted during the last 25 years on this web-site, I and millions of other faithful Catholics have concerns and hopes for our Church. 
5) However, I believe that Pope Francis is correct in insisting on and enabling Dialogue within the Church (eg. "Synodaity") on issues dividing the Faithful. The alternative  ("Pray, Pay and Obey") would have decimated the Church even more than has occurred in the last 50 years. And he must do even more regarding issues like: non-abortifacient Contraception; the "Unitive Function of Sex" within a committed married couple; a greater role for some divorced couples.
 
So: Let's Pray, Pay...and Pay It Forward in Thanksgiving for being Catholics.
