THE 1960'S WERE AS BAD FOR THIS COUNTRY AS WERE THE 1860'S.

The 1860's gave us the Civil War followed by 100 years of segregation and division.

The 1960's have given us 50 years of stupidity and division in large segments of our citizenry...
and 50 years of schism among Roman Catholics after the premature death of Pope John XX111, the accession of the misguided and reactionary Pope Paul VI, and the continuing attacks on the necessary reforms of Vatican II.

Finally Pope Francis may be grasping the importance of revitalizing the deliberations and actions of Vatican II if he wants to avoid a permanent fracture of the Church.  And it will take cracking some heads in the Curia.
