THIS
GROUP OF ARTICLES, NOW WAY OUT OF CONTROL AT LEAST IN NUMBERS,
represents personal assertions... not confessions. They are my personal
attempts to make personal sense out of the history and the future of my
Church. As a physician, I would say that the prognosis is "guarded". As
a faithful and hopeful Catholic, I am certain that the Church will
survive to the end of time.
Nevertheless, I must continue to speak out, not as an offense but as a defense of my Faith.
And so it is with the issue of
priestly celibacy. In my opinion, that state should be considered a personal choice and not a requirement.
Meanwhile, thoughtful articles like the one LINKED below are not definitive and are barely helpful.

What Is The Power Of Celibacy?", by Christopher Caldwell (in NYTimes Feb. 25, 2020, Op-Ed, pA27).
