WHAT'S RIGHT AND WRONG WITH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH #230
See my recent RR article, including
my "Personal Notes: What's Going On Here?
In America, our Founding Fathers
chose "Trial by Combat", based upon Due Process, as our System of
Justice.
The application of that system seems
to be failing in relation to the Church Clergy crisis. That was the thrust of
my concern in my "Personal Notes".
Now comes a series of related
articles and reports posted in the January-February 2019 edition of Catalyst
(Journal of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights). Although at
times its President and Publisher William A. Donohue, PhD seems to me to
"kick every stone in the road", here he is right On Point.
Both the accused and the tens of
thousands of honest clergy are being painted with the same brush: presumed
guilty until proven innocent...if ever. This is morally wrong and legally
unfair. It must stop.
