This is a new section. It will offer fresh, quick reactions by myself to news and events of the day, day by day, in this rapid-fire world of ours. Of course, as in military campaigns, a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction. Charge that to "the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or military campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will always be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick", supported by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be pro-active. That's all I promise.

WEDNESDAY through WEDNESDAY, November 16 through 30, 2022

THE ELECTION: NOT QUITE A POST - MORTEM. MOST LIKE A "REVIEW OF SYSTEMS" FOR A VERY SICK PATIENT.

Here are a few of the serious ailments, with more to follow:
1) The Republicans are Divided: pro-Trump and anti-Trump. Never a winning strategy;
2) Trump must stop bad-mouthing Republicans in public;
3) Abortion was and is the 800 lb. gorilla tramping around the election room, "trumping" all other issues for a majority of voters;
4) Republicans must find a way to get their message out - as effectively as the "mainsteam media" does. Maybe create a new national "Times" or WSJ;
5) Embrace and support middle Americans: those modestly educated, modestly employed, modestly informed...and always struggling.
6) Have specific alternatives for the crazy policies of the democrats and leftists; "No" is not enough. Time to step up with solutions.

A famous saying: "In a democracy, the people always get what they deserve.".
But are we still in a democracy...or are we at least trending elsewhere?

ALRIGHT...SO WHAT DO WE DO NOW IF WE KNOW OR SUSPECT THAT WE HAVE SYMPTOMS OF "LONG COVID"?

1) TRY TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH A "LONG COVID" FACILITY IN A TERTIARY MEDICAL CENTER. GOOD LUCKWITH THAT.

2) HAVE A GOOD AND INTERESTED DIAGNOSTICIAN DO A COMPLETE MEDICAL EVALUATION - BEGINNING WITH A COMPLETE MEDICAL HISTORY - AND LOOKING ESPECIALLY FOR SIGNS OF INFLAMMATORY PROCESSES IN ALL ORGAN SYSTEMS.
3) TRY TO ENTER A CLINICAL INVESTIGATIVE STUDY ON THE SUBJECT...IF YOU DON'T MIND BEING IN THE "CONTROL GROUP" WITHOUT TREATMENT FOR AT LEAST PART OF THE TIME. THAT STUDY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATING THE USE OF ADRENOCORTICOSTEROIDS (ESPECIALLY DEXAMETHASONE) IN MODEST DOSES FOR AT LEAST SEVERAL WEEKS.
4) RESULTS SHOULD BE MONITORED BY APPROPRIATE TESTS...DEFINITELY INCLUDING THE PATIENTS' CLINICAL (SUBJECTIVE) RESPONSE OVER TIME.
5) AND REMEMBER: THIS IS MEDICINE, NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. "ABOVE ALL, DO NO HARM". BUT TRY TO DO SOME GOOD.

Long-term physical and mental health outcomes after COVID-19 occur in all ages

"WHA' HOPPEN?
Of course, I'm referring to November 8, 2022.

1) The Electorate Lied to the Poll-Cats. Why? Because people don't like being asked.
2) The mindless Leftists voted for all of the Crazy policies that they succeeded in intimidating the castrated "Liberals" to pass.
3) Generation Z thought it was a fraternity party introducing a new game.
4) Both traditional and new Republicans thought it was in the bag- especially given those "Crazy policies", and either because of Statesman or in spite of Political Potty Mouth Trump.
6) Meanwhile, most Independents and most women based their decision on one overriding consideration: ABORTION...at any stage, including live birth. And the hierarchy of the Catholic Church did Nothing...nothing other than confusion and failure to inform and motivate both their Faithful and their Fallen-Away. SHAMEFUL.

"In a democracy, the people always get what they deserve" That's in an educated, thoughtful and informed Electorate..By those criteria,,Is this any longer a democracy?

AN EXCELLENT DIAGNOSIS OF THE AILMENT OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY (AS DISTINGUISHED FROM MODERATE AND CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS)...
and a comprehensive outline of the necessary TREATMENT. Please study this offering carefully.

I HAVE JUST ONE OBSERVATION:   WHAT ABOUT THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM: DONALD TRUMP?
All those with Trump Derangement Syndrome, including the Wall Street Journal, have the solution: "Throw The Bum Out".
But it's not that simple. Despite his antics that preclude wanting to make him a personal friend, and despite the resolute powers against him,
President Trump implemented many good domestic and international policies...and he earned the solid support of 70 million "Deplorables".
They were RIGHT then, and they may still be right.
So an ill-considered amputation may kill the patient.

As we practised in typing class:" NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD PEOPLE TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY".

WHAT HAS BEEN CLEAR TO ME FROM THE OUTSET (MARCH, 2020), AND WHAT ULTIMATELY BECAME CLEAR AND ACTIONABLE TO THE EXPERTS (AROUND JULY, 2020), IS THAT COVID-19 DOES ITS GREATEST DAMAGE THROUGH AN OVER-REACTION OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM'S INFLAMMATORY MECHANISMS.

That was true initially and continues to be true now, as patients contract specific organ damage, Long Covid and multiple attacks of the infection - with increasing mortality.
Since the beginning I have treated this condition with Adrenocorticosteroids (specifically Dexamethasone. finally recommended in July, 2020.)
