this rapid-fire world of ours. Of course, as in military
campaigns,
a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed
by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction. Charge that
to
"the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or
military
campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will
always
be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick",
supported
by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be
pro-active.
That's all I promise.

FARE": "WHO MAKES ME DO IT"?
A sense of civic
responsibility and a need to control my blood pressure - that's
"who".
In fact, my comments
are always direct. But they may become more pointed as we approach the critical
2022 elections.
So if anyone is
inclined to reply" YOU TALKIN' TO ME?...Please do so. Just
include your name and address. But I will ignore any comment sent without it.
And so:
1) VP Kamala Harris
recently said at a funeral in Buffalo: "And I do believe that our nation
right now is experiencing an epidemic of hate".
What a Dingbat! Meanwhile, *Biden demonstrated great prescience in selecting
her as his VP. She is the only person protecting him from the 25th Amendment or
from Impeachment. She as *President? NO WAY!
2) Meanwhile, I as a
New Yorker have had high hopes for former Police Captain Eric Adams as Mayor
of New York. So far there's a LOT LESS THAN MEETS THE EYE.
3) The current
"Cancel Culture" has been trying to "cancel" the
Catholic Church for decades. But No Way, as you can see any time
that you read the Catalyst, the publication of the Catholic League For
Religious and Civil Rights and its President, William A. Donohue, PhD. "Turn
the other cheek?" FUGEDDABOUTIT. I'm all for that.
4) I have already
addressed the periodic attention paid to "Guns" while missing
the mark as to cause and effect in violent episodes.
5) But there is never
a lack of opportunity to address the Dumbing Down of our Education Industry.
That section of my web site is one of the largest and growing. So now Law
Schools are considering eliminating the LSAT exam as a prerequisite for
application for such professional studies. STUPID.
6) A democratic
society absolutely cannot survive without an effective System of Justice: Laws;
Police; Prosecutors; effective Attorneys; Judges. That also is breaking down.
Beware! The only alternative to that is self-help - aka vigilantism and
the breakdown of civil society. And the other sine qua non is control of
our national borders, which *Biden has cynically surrendered for short-term
political gain. SHAMEFUL AND DANGEROUS.

A SICK SOCIETY.
1) "God is
Dead". Spirituality vs. Secularism. Human Hope vs. Fatalism / "Living
in the "Here and Now" / ME!
2) The Nuclear Family
is Dying. Non-Committed Parents and married Couples. Federal "Help"
in killing the Nuclear Family.
3) The Children seek
"support" and relevance wherever they can find it.
4) All this is
promoted and aggrandized by mainstream media and by personal "social"
media (enabled by personal gizmos and apps).
5) A Result: Children
"grow up" with vestigial interpersonal skills: unable to interact
personally while "always connected". This prevents both GROWING UP
AND HUMANIZING.
6) Another Result: No
regard for Limits or Law, but rather a deep antipathy to such concepts of
Socialization. The only thing that counts is ME.
7) The logical and inevitable
result: The Law of the Jungle, followed by Revolutions and Decline.
HOW TO ATTEMPT
TREATMENT.
A) ACCEPT the above
symptoms and clinical signs.
B) The three major
Religions must stop playing mere defense and self- defense. The Catholic
Church, for one, must aggressively seek the return of over half of its Laity
who effectively left since the 20th century in revulsion over its unnecessary
rules on "the Unitive Function of Sex" even within the married bond;
on non-abortifacient contraception; on a distinctly un-catholic approach to
divorce as the only viable response to irreconcilable differences between a
married couple who tried; on the rule against marriage for the Clergy; on
declaring homosexual tendencies as "intrinsic evil" rather than
studying it as an apparent biologic variable affecting God's human
creation.
The Church needs to
re-visit these issues for its own relevance and survival...and because WE ALL
NEED ITS SPIRITUAL MESSAGE OF HOPE.
C) Parenting must once
again be entered into as a Full Time Vocation for at least 20 years...or NOT AT
ALL.
D) The addiction to
"social media" must be aggressively treated and replaced by the
actual Humanization of personal interaction...both at home and in school.
E) Actions must once
again have consequences. Law And Order, properly defined and implemented. The
Badge must be respected.
F) In context with all
of the above, access to firearms remains a Constitutional Right...but can be
better regulated as to access - while still consistent with the potential needs
of a "Militia" to rise up against despotism in this
democracy.
Guns do not kill.
People Kill!
Failure to deal with
the above Infection is beginning to lead to the Decline and Fall of the
greatest experiment in human self-government in History.
What a Shame that
would be.

1/2 election years for this democracy's "treatment" to work.
- "The
End of Roe v. Wade". It should have been
still-born, considering its three fatal flaws: unfounded in Medicine, in
Law or in Morality. Meanwhile, "My Body, My Choice"...until you
conceive another human being in your body.
- The
book by Mark Esper. Yet another example of the
truism: "Every Confidant has a Confidant".
- But

Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law/ international negotiator.
- Meanwhile
throughout the country, President Trump's Primary choices are doing
very well.
- Teachers
Unions. Thanks to terminally
intimidated teachers, many of these good people are no longer trustworthy
as adult models for our children. Past time to demand and to pursue
alternatives to Public Education, which have been available for decades
despite constant attacks from those same Teachers Unions. SHAME.
- No use
talking about *Biden - a disaster shielded only by
his Vice President - whom NOBODY would want to take his place!
- Fed.
Chairman Jerome Powell gets rewarded with four more
years for actions too little and too late. Typical Establishment and Wall
Street game plan.
- Homosexuality
and Transgender Issues. As I have addressed earlier
in this section, there are facts and reality to be discerned there. But
the Stupids and the Crazies are once again drowning the issues.

House Republicans have now signed a discharge petition to force Nancy
Pelosi to hold a vote on Rep. Greg Steube’s bill, the Protection of
Women and Girls in Sports Act. The discharge petition was introduced by
Rep. Jim Banks, and received the support of top Republican Leadership
(McCarthy and Scalise both signed this week).
In
other news, the Senate failed to pass radical abortion legislation, and
also temporarily stalled on a House-passed $40 billion Ukraine aid bill
(which lacks oversight and accountability for how funds are spent).
If
you’re looking for some conservative victories, then be sure to look at
state legislatures, where conservatives notched some important wins.
Democrats’ Radical Pro-Abortion Agenda
On Wednesday, a bipartisan majority of Senators voted 51-49 against the Left’s extreme “Abortion for All Act.”
This
vote marks the second time this legislation has failed in the Senate.
Back in February, the same bipartisan majority of Senators voted
against the bill, which Heritage Action key voted as part of our
legislative scorecard.
Here’s how extreme their “Abortion for All Act” is:
• Allows for abortion in ALL NINE months of pregnancy (including gruesome late-term abortions).
• Overturns ALL state pro-life protections.
• Removes ALL religious exemptions for healthcare workers and OB-GYNs who refuse to perform abortions.
• Forces ALL taxpayers to fund abortions.
• ALL babies can be targeted for abortion based on their race, gender, or genetics.
While this vote failed, it’s important to remember that almost every Senate Democrat voted for this bill…TWICE.
When
there are so many pressing issues (inflation, open borders, a baby
formula shortage), it’s reprehensible that Chuck Schumer and his caucus
would message to voters that gruesome late-term abortions should be
legal and should be the priority.
Voters should remember this come November.
No Accountability for Ukraine Spending
This week, the House voted to put America Last by passing a $40 BILLION aid package for Ukraine.
While
Putin is clearly to be condemned for his invasion, America’s
involvement in supporting Ukraine should be more carefully considered
than a blank check with no accountability or oversight––particularly
when Americans are dealing with so many problems at home.
On
Thursday, Senator Rand Paul took a principled stand and refused to
allow the Senate to quickly move onto consideration of the bill unless
they added language to create oversight of the spending. Paul proposed
expanding an Afghanistan inspector general role to include oversight of
the Ukraine funds.
Leader
Schumer refused to change the bill and meet Paul’s request, and so now
the Senate will have to wait till next week to vote on it.
The process behind this funding package epitomizes “The Swamp” that is Washington:
•
The text of the bill was released at 3:09 PM on Wednesday and was voted
on in the House at 10:05 PM the same day. That’s LESS than seven hours
to read, debate, scrutinize, and refine a $40 billion package.
•
$40 billion is a higher cost than the Department of Justice’s annual
budget, and is even greater than the funding for the Environmental
Protection Agency, Department of Labor, and Department of Commerce
combined.
•
There’s no accountability for where each dollar will be spent, no
guarantees of equal contributions from European partners, and no
spending offsets.
And
let’s not forget, inflation numbers were released this week and they
weren’t good. Printing billions of dollars to finance even more deficit
spending isn’t going to help the situation at home.
Winning in the States
This week, the governors of Oklahoma and Tennessee signed into law several pieces of important legislation.
•
Oklahoma: Governor Stitt signed into law House Bill 3046, which
protects Oklahoma from Silicon Valley billionaires influencing their
elections. Now, private money (or “Zuck Bucks”) handed out to election
offices for clear partisan interests will be outlawed in Oklahoma.
•
Tennessee: Governor Lee signed into law House Bill 2416 to protect
unborn babies and their mothers from dangerous chemical abortions.
Tennessee
and other states already have protections for life on the books, or
have pledged for a special legislative session following the
anticipated overturning of Roe v. Wade.
But more state legislatures need to take action.
That’s
why Executive Director Jessica Anderson and Heritage President Dr.
Kevin Roberts released a joint statement urging governors, state
lawmakers, and other elected officials to act NOW to protect the
unborn.

Great news for Plum Island: Senators advocate preservation
Plum
Island is off the auction block, but its final fate is still undecided.
In a push for preservation, senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten
Gillibrand of New York and Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy of
Connecticut sent a joint letter to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb
Haaland on April 25. The senators wrote: “We urge you and the
administration to consider and utilize all available executive and
administrative tools at your disposal to ensure the permanent
protection of Plum Island and its management for conservation by the
Department of the Interior.” Read the full letter here.
Tell your senators you appreciate their continued support
for preserving Plum Island.
The
Preserve Plum Island Coalition is encouraging lawmakers to ask
President Biden to proclaim Plum Island a National Monument for the
purposes of environmental conservation, historic preservation, and
discovery and celebration of our shared cultural heritage or to use any
other available tool for permanent federal protection. Under this plan,
federal entities would enter a public–private partnership made possible
by at least one generous private donor.
An ecological gem, Plum
Island is home to the largest seal haul-out site in New York.
Approximately 228 bird species have been sighted there—nearly a quarter
of all known in North America, north of Mexico. In addition, over 111
species of conservation concern have been documented on this 822-acre
island. Plum Island’s coast and waters encompass several habitats now
rare for Long Island, including dunes and eelgrass meadows. The island
is also home to nationally significant artifacts and historic
buildings, including the National Register of Historic Places Plum
Island Lighthouse (1869) and the National Register of Historic Places
Fort Terry (1897) army barracks and weapons batteries.
As part of
the Preserve Plum Island Coalition—now 120 organizations strong—we have
already navigated a challenging route on our journey to save Plum
Island. We worked for more than a decade to protect the island from
development and make way for a new, permanent conservation solution,
and we’ll keep fighting to make protection of Plum Island a reality.
We
couldn’t have done any of this work without the care and dedication of
our elected officials, from local mayors and supervisors right up to
senators Schumer, Gillibrand, Blumenthal, and Murphy. And we couldn’t
have done it without you.

THIS NATION IS WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF
THE CRITICAL NOVEMBER 2022 NATIONAL ELECTIONS.
Apart from the Real and suspected
election frauds that have permeated Americans' thinking since the Fall of 2020,
the other critical issues for this or any election cycle are Facts: true and
reliable information on which to base decisions and choices.
Although frauds and falsehoods have
always been the stock in trade of many politicians throughout our history, we
could for two centuries depend upon a Free and Ethical Press to keep us
factually informed.
No Longer...certainly not in the
last decade. The mainstream media have joined those politicians in prostituting
themselves to the dissemination of fake and distorted "news".
The result: our recent generations

RUSSIA...AND THEREFORE FOR US.

1898 and to Britain and France in the Suez campaign of 1956..."plunging
Russia into an identity crisis".
"For Vladimir Putin and the
people around him, the stakes in Ukraine are almost infinitely
great".
Of course, the stakes for the
Ukranian people Are "infinitely great", as in life or death.
And therefore we must go all out to guarantee them personal and national
victory.

THERE CAN BE NOTHING MORE LOCAL THAN ONE'S PERSONAL HEALTH AND ACCESS TO HEALTH
CARE.
However, "Woke ideology and
policies have become quite literally a hazard to your health."

I always thought that adherence to
the command "PRIMUM NON NOCERE: FIRST, DO NO HARM" was a
no-brainer. No longer, given the new leadership of several of our
national medical organizations, and given what and how medical students
are now being taught.
So now the new command must be
"CAVEAT EMPTOR: LET THE BUYER BEWARE".
More Shame on the current
national leadership and on the current generations.
