this rapid-fire world of ours. Of course, as in military
campaigns,
a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed
by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction. Charge that
to
"the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or
military
campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will
always
be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick",
supported
by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be
pro-active.

USS BILL CLINTON
The USS William Jefferson Clinton (CVS1) set sail today from its home port of Vancouver , BC

ship is the first of its kind in the Navy and is a standing legacy to
President Bill Clinton 'for his foresight in military budget cuts' and
his conduct while holding the (formerly dignified) office of President.
The
ship is constructed nearly entirely from recycled aluminum and is

BAD PARROT
A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a
bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with
profanity.
John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently
saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could
think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled
back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more
rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put
him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked
and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a
minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the
freezer.. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms
and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and
actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions
and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and
unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.
As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change
in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly,
"May I ask what the turkey did?"

Politics................
The definition of the word Conundrum is something that is puzzling or

government.

This is nonsense.
First,
the editorial board announces that "The World Has Changed". We no
longer need fear a pre-emptive strike from the Russians or the Chinese.
And regarding "an irrational rogue actor...that's scary, but not on a
Soviet, Cold War scale." Really?
Then we are treated to the asinine hyperbole of Senator Chris Murphy:
"We
are concerned that the president of the United States is so unstable,
is so volatile, has a decision-making process that is so quixotic that
he might order a nuclear weapons strike that is wildly out of step with
U.S. natural security interests, Murphy said". To which the Editors
opine:
"Extreme characterization? Maybe not".
Then they place confidence in the Congress, that dystrophic body, to
act in such a crisis.
You are out of your mind. And you are sadly still hell-bent on
reversing the 2016 presidential election. What a pity.
I
still haven't figured out why she lost. Was it the
Russians? Or was it WikiLeaks? Or was it
Podesta? Or
Comey? Or was it a sexual predator husband? Or was
it a
staffer's husband Weiner's immoral pictures? Was it subpoena
violation? Or was it the corrupt foundation? Or was
it the
congressional lies? Or was it the Benghazi bungle?

THE TAX REFORM PLAN:
Not yet a done deal, but Real News instead of Fake News.
You
think that the 21st century has been pretty bad so far? You're right,
but this is just History repeating itself. Check out "Misfortunes
Multiplied", by Richard White, describing America in the later 19th
century. "Corruption suffused government and the economy. It was not a
distortion of the system but the system's lifeblood".
The
inhabitants of our system of Higher Education are even worse than we
have imagined. Read "Higher Education's Deeper Sickness", by John M.
Ellis, PhD., in WSJ Opinion, November 14, 2017, pA21. "The exclusion of
any last trace of contrary opinion is not only acknowledged but
affirmed...Extremism and Demagoguery win out." Only a broadbased Revolt
by those who pay the bills and who accredit these institutions of lower
learning can reverse this takeover.
Watch out for a coming
takeover of the world. "The Computer That Could Rule The
World",
by Arthur Herman, in WSJ Oct. 28-29, 2017, Opinion, pA13. This is NOT
science fiction, but science already here.
Global Warming is
really not in question. What is in question is the degree of
contribution of human activity to that trend, and what we can do about
it without committing a slow suicide, faster than in some area of the

HUMAN RIGHTS AMID HUMAN WRONGS.
The world is today drowning in a
sea of blood from innocent victims trapped in their malign countries.
And many of these countries are situated in parts of the world that are
of critical importance to the interests and safety of America.
As has been said many times: "A nation does not have friends; it has
Interests".
In
this situation, the public promotion of human rights, so important to
the Western World and so much less important to the rest of the world,
must take second place to America's own interests and safety. "America
First" is not just a slogan; it is an obligation to our families...and
also to those innocents who seek our help.
An example. Russians
look and dress like Occidentals. They are not. They are Orientals,
wedded to the subordination of the individual to the needs of community
and government.
President Trump is working to restore respect for
the power and influence of America in a dangerous world...a reputation
seriously eroded by the actions and inactions of the previous
administration. Only in that way can America protect itself and hope to
extend Human Rights to others.
IN A NATION THAT HAS BECOME FILLED WITH LILLIPUTIANS,
WHERE ARE THE GULLIVERS?
All of the talk about Tax Reform stresses those who may pay higher
taxes or lose benefits. What about the resultant GROWTH?
It
is only through national business and economic growth, including fair
dealings with foreign competitors, that this nation can right our
foundering ship. And YES, WE ARE FOUNDERING.
America almost lost World War ll in the early years. America could well
lose a world war in our current state.
"The
Business of America is Business", as "Engine Charlie Wilson" used to
say. Well, let's get on with it, starting with massive Tax Reform.

I
do not use EHR'S in my clinical practice. And I am penalized 2-4% of my
Medicare payments per year for that decision. My patients are just fine.
FINALLY, THE WORD FROM THE MEDICAL "ON HIGH" AGREES WITH THOSE OF US
WHO HAVE BEEN TREATING HYPERTENSION AGGRESSIVELY FOR MANY DECADES.
And we even had to go through the period about three years ago when
some cost-conscious "gurus" proposed 160 mm Hg. as a good BP for the
elderly. Crazy.
Essential Hypertension is the most important, most prevalent and most
easily treated of the many chronic diseases that beset us, most often
at a relatively early age. This is especially true if there is a family
history of hypertension. The alternatives to good BP control are
stroke, heart disease, dementia and a shortened and uncomfortable life
span.
"CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"

That declaration by George C. Scott as Patton in the great movie
encapsulates my reaction to the information reported in the following
article (www.ctmirror.org, 11.10, 2017):
"Senate Tax Bill Would Have Big Impact On CT Homeowners, Small
Businesses".
This refers to the proposed elimination of both the property tax
deduction and the deductions for State and local income taxes.
If the swamp creatures in Washington want no change in the current Tax
Code that has for decades greatly benefited them and their lobbyists,
this is the way to do it. These provisions and the entire reform effort
will die aborning.
"Too Machiavelian", you say. Don't kid yourself.
"DON'T JUST STAND THERE. DO SOMETHING!"
I HAVE BEEN PREDICTING THIS FOR A LONG TIME,
in these offerings and elsewhere.
Well now, as a healer, what do I suggest?
The following are some approaches, not all mine and some very
familiar, that can actually work.
"To Thine Own Self Be True"
Listen to yourself, body and soul. They talk to you.
You
cannot be awarded "Self-Image". You have to earn and develop it for
yourself. That comes with hard work, with failures as well as with
successes. And there will be both.
Adolescence has never been
improved upon, not since Adam and Eve. Every human being who has ever
lived has gone through the same adolescence...with all of its same
trials, anxieties and glories. And that is one reason why Human Nature
has never improved, as of this writing. Of course, we always have Hope.
Never wish away Time. It is your most important possession,
next to good health.
"Adversity is the price to be paid for Principle".
Personal
experience is great. Vicarious experience, learned from others, is
almost as great - and a lot less costly and painful. "Stop, Look,
Listen"...and avoid the on-coming train from "the light at the end of
the tunnel".
If you are lucky enough to have two present and
loving parents, listen to them. Yes, I know. "When I was 16, I thought
my father was an idiot. When I was 18, it was amazing how much he had
learned in two years".
To get through all of this, you will need all of your
God-given faculties physical and mental. DON'T USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS.
Choose your friends and "friends" wisely. Your future is at
stake.
From
the time I was 14, I was traveling by myself all over New York City, by
mass transit and later by the one family car. The only thing that my
father told me on two or three occasions was: "Don't bring shame on
your family". I never did.
Be "Process-Oriented", not
"Outcome-Oriented". Forget the "What ifs". You will never have control
over all of the variables that go into the Future. What you can do is
deal with what is within your power to affect and effect. Then just
say: "Gimme your best shot!"
In this, rapidly approaching the
completion of my 85th year, this is what I can remember at this time.
My kids will probably remind me of some "more of my favorite things".
And I'm still learning. So, STAY ALIVE, REALLY ALIVE...AND STAY TUNED.

ANALYSIS/OPINION:
I
know of no white person alive today in the United States who has ever
legally owned a black slave, or any slave for that matter. Almost
700,000 mostly white men died 160 years ago to end slavery. Jim Crow
ended generations ago. Yet black America, for the most part, is still
locked in inner-city gang violence and economic hardship. Why?
Is it because America is racist? Is it because of some
overhanging white supremacy? Is it because of the Illuminati?
No, unfortunately, it is because of black culture and the adoption of
Democratic Party government dependency.
We
have just had eight years of the first black president. Black
athletes, and entertainers, routinely earn multi-million dollar
incomes. I can easily name several black billionaires without
even trying too hard. A large percentage of black America is very
successful. But, it is not enough.. Too many black youth are being left
behind.
And it is no one but black America’s fault.
No
one can solve this problem but black America. No one can
throw
enough money at it. We’ve tried that. Black America
needs
to look in the mirror and stop blaming others, especially white people.
I
am obviously white and conservative, and I served in the military,
which, during my time, was as color blind as you could be. I can also
honestly say I don’t give a damn what color your skin is, neither do
any of my friends. I do care about your actions.
Blacks
are around 15 percent of the population. Depending on what study you
look at, they commit around 40 percent to 50 percent of violent crime
in America. Of course, there is going to be a problem with
police. And, of course, there are some bad policemen.
However,
those bad apples do not kill black people statistically any more than
they kill white people. Even Harvard said that recently. If
you
were a cop, and you had to work in a neighborhood infested with crime
and murder, wouldn’t you act differently than in a neighborhood where
there was little crime? The most effective thing black America could do
to improve its relationship with police is to significantly reduce
violent crime where they live. Yes, that means change the
culture
of where you live and your community.
I for one am tired
of being blamed.. I am tired of dealing with people who only
want
something from others. I don’t oppress anyone. I
don’t hold
anyone down. I’m tired of getting on the D.C. metro and
seeing
white people being harassed by roaming gangs of black youth with their
pants around their knees. Yes, you want a white person
uncomfortable? That makes me uncomfortable. It’s
our
nation’s capital and it’s embarrassing.
Blacks have
nothing but opportunity in America. Try finding the same

The problem is this generation has been taught an
agenda of cultural Marxism by our education system. They’ve

college president to understand that. Blacks in America don’t
even know how good they got it.
Don’t kneel when my anthem is

free to
protest - but not then. I am free to not watch, or pay to

you play if you do that. The NFL should make it a rule that

stand for the national anthem. There is no free speech to
disobey
a private employer on private property. This would solve the
problem immediately.
The NFL has deeply offended most of America. They will pay an economic
and reputational price, as they should.
We
have a real cultural problem in this country, the result of the Leftist
multicultural agenda. Multi-ethnicity is perfect and should
be
encouraged.. Having more than one American culture is
destroying
the country. But then again, that is what the Left wants.

Amount of people in poverty would drop - 34%,
The prison population would go down by -37%,
Welfare recipients would go down by - - - 42%,
Gang members would go down by - - - - - 53%
Average SAT scores would go UP almost - - - - -100 points,
The average income for Americans would go UP over $20,000 a year,
BUT DEMOCRATS WOULD LOSE 76% OF THEIR VOTING BASE!!!
And, many criminal defense attorneys would have to find another line of
work!

It
would appear that "innocent until proven guilty", a bedrock principle
of American Law and Justice, is not quite appropriate for Mitt Romney
and for so many craven politicians who now are in effect proposing a
new policy for "sexual misconduct allegations". The allegation is
enough to ruin a person's life. Given this aberration of thought, the
more serious the allegation, the lower the bar to summary and rough
justice.
Whether relating to a movie mogul or to a College
freshman, we are now back to the Salem Witch trials, with

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: CONSCIENCE VS. DOGMA.
The Catholic Laity, "the Body of the Church", long ago answered this
question for itself.
Pope Francis has been articulating that answer.
What he needs to do now is to give it the weight of Dogma, by defining
it "Ex Cathedra".
Time to take off the velvet glove.
The Catholic Church must always be Christian as well as Catholic.
NOW HERE IS A
NATIONAL HEALTH CRISIS WORSE THAN DRUG ADDICTION,
and possibly even related to it: CHRONIC BRAIN TRAUMA FROM
SPORTS.
Beginning
with Peewee Football and other collision sports, millions of children
are subjected to recurrent head trauma that is poorly diagnosed and
followed. We are now learning the cost of that cavalier approach.
THIS MUST STOP.
On a personal note, I did not allow any of my three strapping sons to
pay football.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT GAY RIGHTS OR HOMOSEXUALITY.
It is about "the best interests of the child". That's all about LOVE.

"AMID BOOMING ECONOMY, HOMELESSNESS SOARS ALONG U.S.WEST COAST".
This article appeared in The Day (www.theday.com) in the
Business section on November 6.
Anticipating
reading about the usual list of bums, addicts and the mentally ill, I
found more: working adults who can't find affordable apartments or
...even less...affordable houses; students of all ages; people hit with
one major personal crisis that changes everything for a very long time;
people on Welfare or Disability who can't afford housing or even find
housing.
"Most people are homeless because they can't afford a place to live."
And
while our citizens and many of our veterans are thus being dehumanized,
we're talking about doing nothing effective about illegal immigration
and about opening our borders even more.
This is the veritable definition of Idiocy...and of irresponsibility.
The
list of possible approaches is long...and is being tried on the West
Coast, which seems most affected. But the number of homeless continues
to grow. All approaches require investment of money, time and a
Christian spirit. Perhaps we can start by encouraging many of our 400+
billionaires, who are honored for donating even just 5 or 10% of their
holdings, to invest 15 or 20 or 40 % toward addressing this national
crisis. Many of the rest of us could donate our time and our good will.
And the nation needs to get back to "the business of America...":
Business that would really "raise all boats". After eight years of
ineptitude, we now have a leader than can stimulate all of this - if he
is allowed to lead. But to do nothing and simply wring our
hands
is un-Christian and Stupid

voter turnout, as in NYC, was quite low. We know that Gillespy, the
Republican candidate in Virginia, kept himself at arm's length from

And we now hear that a CNN poll found that our citizens have a 37%
"favorable" rating of the Democratic Party.
My reaction? "WAIT 'TIL NEXT YEAR", for the national elections.
