military
campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will
always
be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick",
supported
by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be
pro-active.

"Deepwater Horizon"
They
certainly get the pyrotechnics and the deafening sound right, although
at the expense of hearing the dialogue. They also try to develop
individual characters, although ultimately superficially. But does a
person, in panic and pain for sure, need all of that time to get off
that rig that is about to incinerate you - and JUMP INTO THE WATER?
But
my main criticism is not with those details, but with the bigger
picture: there was a crime; there are many victims; but there is no
Punishment.
And don't talk to me about money damages. PEOPLE
NEED TO GO TO JAIL. That theme was barely implied in the movie. Not so
with Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal who, addressing the many
examples of corporate crime, has drafted the "HIDE NO HARM ACT", which
would finally make responsible corporate individuals criminally liable
for corporate criminal acts perpetrated under their control. That
should have been the message of this movie, "based on a true story".
What: too politically incorrect?

Is
it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow
epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost
three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of
Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are
unable to locate 12 million illegal aliens wandering around our
country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.
THE CONSTITUTION
They
keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq .... why don't we
just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it
has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.
THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
The
real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a
courthouse is this -- you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou
Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full
of lawyers, judges and politicians ... it creates a hostile work
environment.

refute this program in the future. It’s free money for the government
to spend under this guise (new name).
It is really sad to think
that most people will just roll over and accept this as if there is
nothing that can be done, but maybe there is if we make a little noise
about our displeasure with what they have done to today’s retirees. I

The Social Security Check is now (or soon will be) referred to as…..
A *Federal Benefit Payment*!!!
I'll be part if the one percent to forward this. I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you.
Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it.
The government is now referring to our Social Security Checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment."
This
isn't a benefit. It is our money paid out of our earned income! Not
only did we all contribute to Social Security, but our employers did
too. It totaled 15% of our income before taxes.
If you averaged
$30K per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested
in Social Security. If you calculate the future value of your monthly
investment in social security ($375/month, including both you and your
employers contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded
monthly, After 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3+ million
dollars saved!
This is your personal investment!
Upon
retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per
year, or $3,277 per month. That's almost three times more than today's
average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the
Social Security Administration. (Google it –it’s a fact).
And
your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if
you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most
average-income people COULD LIVE in retirement if our government had
just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.
Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger government *Ponzi
Scheme* than Bernie Madoff ever did.
They took our money and
used it elsewhere. They forgot (oh yes, they knew) that it was OUR
money they were taking. They didn't have a referendum to ask us if we
wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn't pay interest on the
debt they assumed. And recently they've told us that the money won't
support us for very much longer (Isn't it funny that they NEVER say
this about welfare payments?).
But is it our fault they misused our investments?
And
now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a *benefit*, as if we
never worked to earn every penny of it. Just Because they borrowed the
money, doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!
Let's
take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and
Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our
government. Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for
the sake of that 92% of our population who need it.
Then call it what it is: Our Earned Retirement Income

"SFOGARE": Italian for "to vent", to put out the fire.
That's what I must do every time I think of the abject failure that has been
Public Education during the last 40 years.
I am not new to this subject, as you can see from a visit to the Category on my web site entitled "Public Education Politics".
But
now the scope of the failure is fully evident: absentee parents
beginning with pre-school and trying to make up for it with destructive
permissiveness and with efforts to administer "self-image" rather than
having it be personally earned; colleges and universities which
have become institutions of totalitarian indoctrination instead of open
dialogue and "higher education"; addiction to gizmos and gadgets at the
expense of learning priceless socialization - and with resultant
depression and suicidal ideation; ridiculous grade inflation and the
holy "Curve"....
It is this last concept that prompts me today.

I
have a personal story about that. In the mid-nineties, I served
as Adjunct Professor of Law at Quinnepeac School of Law for three
semesters. My subjects included Health Law and Medical Mal-Practice
Law. My students were second and third year Law students.
On
the first day of the first semester course, I met with 32
students. After some pleasantries, I issued two rules: 1) this
was not to be a correspondence course; three unexcused absences = no
grade; 2) no grading "on the Curve"; I would give whatever each earned,
32 "A"s, 32 "C"s, etc. We then proceeded with the day's material.
At
the second class meeting, 16 students were ABSENT, never to be seen
again. The rest of us continued with a fine semester course,
until of course I had to read and grade 16 three - hour essay
exams. As it turned out, they all earned A's and B's, with one
C. I continued for two other semester courses. A very rewarding
experience, as have been all of the experiences of teaching and
learning during this, my 60th year as a practising physician.
So,
what has this wreck called "Public Education" wrought? Just look around
you, and especially at those who don't even know that they are dying of
STUPIDITY.
And now comes the news that up to 40% of Millennials are still living with their parents!
CONGRATULATIONS: YOU GET AN A ++ AND A 4.5 GPA,
whatever the Hell that is.

The Story of a Frog - An Analogy
The STORY...
"If you place a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will immediately try to
scramble out. But if you place the frog in room temperature water, and don't
scare him, he'll stay put. Now, if the pot sits on a heat source, and if you
gradually turn up the temperature, something very interesting happens. As
the temperature rises from 70 to 80 degrees F., the frog will do nothing. In
fact, he will show every sign of enjoying himself. As the temperature
gradually increases, the frog will become groggier and groggier, until he is
unable to climb out of the pot. Though there is nothing restraining him, the
frog will sit there and boil. Why? Because the frog's internal apparatus for
sensing threats to survival is geared to sudden changes in his environment,
not to slow, gradual changes".
This is worth reading, however it will upset you.
ALL Of A Sudden....Seven Short Years Have Passed!
Before Obama, There was virtually no outlandish presence of Islam in America.
. All of a sudden, Islam is taught in schools. Christianity and the bible are banned in schools.
. All of a sudden we must allow prayer rugs everywhere and allow for Islamic prayer in schools, airports, and businesses.
. All of a sudden we must stop serving pork in prisons.
. All of a sudden we are inundated with lawsuits by Muslims who are offended by American culture.
. All of a sudden we must allow burkas to be worn everywhere even though you have no idea who or what is covered up under them.
.
All of a sudden Muslims are suing employers and refusing to do their
jobs if they personally deem it conflicts with Sharia Law.
. All of a sudden the Attorney General of the United States vows to prosecute anyone who engages in 'anti-Muslim speech'.
.
All of a sudden, Jihadists who engage in terrorism and openly admit
they acted in the name of Islam and ISIS are emphatically declared they
are NOT Islamic by our leaders and/or their actions are determined NOT
to be terrorism, but other nebulous terms like 'workplace violence."
.
All of a sudden, it becomes Policy that Secular Middle East dictators
that were benign or friendly to the West, must be replaced by Islamists
and the Muslim Brotherhood.
. All of a sudden our troops are withdrawn from Iraq and the middle east, giving rise to ISIS.
.
All of a sudden, America has reduced its nuclear stockpiles to 1950
levels, as Obama's stated goal of a nuke-free America by the time he
leaves office continues uninterrupted.
. All of a sudden, a deal
with Iran must be made at any cost, with a pathway to nuclear weapons
and HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars handed over to fund their programs.
.
All of a sudden America APOLOGIZES to Muslim states and sponsors of
terror worldwide for acts of aggression, war, and sabotage THEY
perpetrate against our soldiers.
. All of a sudden, the American
Navy is diminished to 1917 Pre-World War I levels Of only 300 ships.
The Army is at pre-1940 levels. The Air Force scraps 500 planes and
planned to retire the use of the A-10 Thunderbolt close air support
fighter. A further drawdown of another 40,000 military personnel is in
progress.
. All of a sudden half of our aircraft carriers are
recalled for maintenance by Obama rendering the Atlantic unguarded,
NONE are in the Middle East .
. All of a sudden Obama has to
empty Guantanamo Bay of captured Jihadists and let them loose in
Jihad-friendly Islamic states. He demands to close the facility.
. All of a sudden America will negotiate with terrorists and trade FIVE Taliban commanders for a deserter and Jihad sympathizer.
.
All of a sudden there is no money for American poor, disabled veterans,
jobless Americans, hungry Americans, or displaced Americans but there
is endless money for Obama's "Syrian refugee" resettlement Programs.
. All of sudden there is an ammunition shortage in the USA.
.
All of a sudden, the most important thing for Obama to do after a mass
shooting by two supporters of RADICAL Islamic Jihad, is disarm American
citizens.
. All of a sudden, the President of the United States
cannot attend the Christian funerals of a Supreme Court Justice and a
former First Lady because of previous (seemingly unimportant)
commitments.

Background:
There is an effort
currently underway within the American Medical Association (AMA) to abandon its
decades-long position opposing assisted suicide and take a neutral stance. At
its July 2017 annual meeting, the AMA will consider taking a “neutral” position
which essentially sends a green light to the states that legalizing is
acceptable. However, we have recently been made aware that the AMA will hold an
interim meeting on November 13 and 14 in Orlando where a special
breakout session will be held on assisted suicide.
Both the national and
state medical societies’ opposition to doctor-prescribed suicide have been
instrumental in stopping the spread of these dangerous laws. In fact, when the
Vermont and California medical societies took neutral positions, it was devastating
to the efforts in the legislature to block legalization. Assisting suicide is
now legal in Oregon, Washington, Vermont, and California, and the practice may
have some legal protection in the state of Montana.
Action Needed
We are asking the
following things:

2. Please restrict arguments to the suggested bullet points, in the

The AMA should retain
its longstanding position in opposition to the legalization of assisted suicide
because:
· Medical professionals should
focus on providing care and comfort to patients – NOT becoming a source of
lethal drugs. I would not want my doctor to have this power and suggest
suicide to me as an “option.”
· Will the government and
insurance companies do the right thing – pay for treatment costing thousands of
dollars – or the cheap thing – pay for lethal drugs costing hundreds of
dollars?
· Everyone knows someone
who has been misdiagnosed or outlived a terminal diagnosis.
· Wanting to die because
of depression is treatable. Millions of people are living proof.
· Everyone agrees that
dying in pain is unacceptable, however nearly all pain is now treatable. A
patient in pain should find a new doctor.
· Oregon is proof that
general suicides rise dramatically once assisted suicide is promoted as a
“good.”
· My family member could
die from taking lethal drugs and I wouldn’t know about it until he/she is dead
because no family notification is required in advance.
· Assisted suicide is a
recipe for elder and disability abuse because it can put lethal drugs in the
hands of abusers.
· A relative who is an
heir to the patient’s estate or an abusive caregiver can pick up the lethal
drugs and administer them without the patient’s knowledge or consent.
There is no oversight and no witnesses are required once the lethal drugs leave
the pharmacy

"Sully"
Everyone has seen the real-life movie "...On The Hudson". So, is this a sequel?
In
any case, this movie is well-done and worth-while. That's not to say
that it could not have been improved with better sequencing of the
flash-backs and forth, with fewer agonized phone calls between Sully
and his wife, and with a somewhat broader range of emotion by Tom Hanks
in a reprise of his stoic acting in the Maersk ship pirate story.
What was very good were the flight sequences and the emotions of the just plain folks caught up in all of this.

Think
of the media circus, flags at half staff, and all the things that were
said of Whitney Houston when she died. Think about how it
was when Prince died (from an overdose no less). I don’t know
about you, but it seems we are turning this country over to the likes
of people like Whitney and Prince. This hero died with barely
anyone's notice...
"Shifty" By Chuck Yeager
Shifty
volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of
the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne
Infantry. If you've seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the History
Channel, you know Shifty. His character appears in all 10
episodes, and Shifty himself is interviewed in several of them.
I
met Shifty in the Philadelphia airport several years ago. I didn't know
who he was at the time. I just saw an elderly gentleman having trouble
reading his ticket. I offered to help, assured him that he wasat the
right gate, and noticed the "Screaming Eagle," the symbol of
the 101st Airborne, on his hat.
Making
conversation, I asked him if he'd been in the 101st Airborne or if his
son was serving. He said quietly that he had been in the 101st. I
thanked him for his service, then asked him when he served,and how many
jumps he made. Quietly and humbly, he said "Well, I guess I signed up
in 1941 or so, and was in until sometime in 1945 ..." at which point my
heart skipped.
At that point, again, very humbly, he said "I
made the 5 training jumps at Toccoa, and then jumped into Normandy . .
. do you know where Normandy is?" At this point my heart stopped. I
told him "yes, I know exactly where Normandy is, and I know what D-Day
was." At that point he said "I also made a second jump into Holland ,
into Arnhem ." I was standing with a genuine war hero ... and then I
realized that it was June, just after the anniversary of D-Day.
I
asked Shifty if he was on his way back from France , and he said
"Yes... And it 's real sad because, these days, so few of the guys are
left, and those that are, lots of them can't make the trip." My heart
was in my throat and I didn't know what to say.
I helped
Shifty get onto the plane and then realized he was back in coach while
I was in First Class. I sent the flight attendant back to get him and
said that I wanted to switch seats. When Shifty came forward, I got up
out of the seat and told him I wanted him to have it, that I'd take his
in coach. He said "No, son, you enjoy that seat. Just knowing that
there are still some who remember what we did and who still care is
enough to make an old man very happy." His eyes were filling up as he
said it.
And mine are brimming up now as I write this.
Shifty died on Jan. l7, 2012 after fighting cancer.
There was no parade. No big event in Staples Center ..
No wall-to-wall, back-to-back 24x7 news coverage.
No weeping fans on television. And that's not right!
Let's
give Shifty his own memorial service, on line, in our own quiet way.
Please forward this email to everyone you know. Especially to the
veterans.
Rest in peace, Shifty.

I think that it is amazing how the "media" chooses our "heroes" these
days...Elvis, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston & the like.

THANK YOU, TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES.
Last
evening at 8 PM, you aired the movie whose story has been the basis for
my work during this election campaign from the beginning:
"BONNIE AND CLYDE". To be more specific: Anybody but Bonnie and Clyde.
In
fact, Donald Trump was not my first choice. I would have preferred Gov.
Huckabee or Newt Gingrich. But the people have clearly spoken, at least
to date; and that's good enough for me - so long as they VOTE.
Meanwhile, I have found, while carefully ignoring the many mine-fields
placed by the totally biased main Media, that there is much more to
Trump than meets the eye - or nose.
Now comes the clear
statements of Hillary herself, in the FBI documents just released, that
she "can't remember" many things related to her personal e-mails and to
the instructions given to her regarding the handling of Confidential or
Secret information she was to receive and did receive as U.S. Secretary
of State! And this she attributes to her "concussion" a couple of
years ago.
This personal
admission places her medical, neurological and psychological condition
squarely in play relating to her ability to serve in- and therefore to
run for - the Presidency of the United States.
"IS ANYBODY THERE? DOES ANYBODY CARE?"

AND NOW LET'S DISCUSS ONE OF THE SEVERAL "-ISMS",
THROUGH
WHOSE ACCUSATIONS MADE BY FAR LEFT CRAZIES ARE DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE
FREE SPEECH BY INTIMIDATION - AND EVEN BY PHYSICAL HARM.
LET'S CONSIDER "RACISM".
"Racism"
goes back to the immediate descendants of Adam and Eve, who quickly
established themselves into "Tribes". And that tribalism
continues unabated to this day...in every corner of the world and among
all peoples. The immediate corollary of that was and is "Us
versus Them". In fact, America came to be due to the religious
tribalism the Puritans were suffering in England. Then came the turn of
other religions, of the Indians (including among themselves with a
vengeance), of the Blacks from Africa (regarding whom Americans have
nearly torn themselves apart for over two centuries), of the Chinese,
the Catholics, the Irish, the Italians, the Jews, the Asians and most
recently the Middle Eastern Muslims.
This situation is
and will continue to be inevitable - unless a relatively recent
development (ie. beginning in the early 20th century) continues to gain
currency. Where practiced, it has proven to be very effective in
overcoming Tribalism. That development is INTEGRATION INTO THE
PREDOMINANT SOCIETY AND CULTURE, while maintaining their own tribal
culture.
By contrast, insistence on isolation in one's own culture
always produces intolerance, prejudice and "us versus them". That
is the choice of every new wave of immigrants - and of each of the
tribes already here.
NOW HEAR THIS, BLACK AMERICA. That is
your choice. All of the other shades of ethnicity have been ready for a
long time to integrate you into the predominant Society, where you can
earn your place, as they all had to do.
Meanwhile, to correct a very nasty and isolationist quotation:
"ALL LIVES MATTER".
"CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"

Movie review for "Florence Foster Jenkins"
I
don't recall ever walking out of a movie that featured Meryll
Streep...before this one. And that, despite the fact that I had
promised myself beforehand not to do so, in deference to Ms. Streep.
But that I did. I am not into cruelty or sadism, not toward animals and certainly not toward fellow human beings.
You might want to read the story of Ms. Jenkins life in the Wikipedia account. Perhaps I should have done that before going.
Anyway,
I have nothing good to say about those who surrounded her in real
life. And as for Ms. Jenkins, my diagnosis is Tertiary Syphilis and
related psychosis. Was there not one person who loved her enough to
shield her from her delusions?
So, did this movie, hurtful and once more depicting man's inhumanity to man, have to be made at all?
