this rapid-fire world of ours. Of course, as in military
campaigns,
a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed
by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction. Charge that
to
"the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or
military
campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will
always
be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick",
supported
by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be
pro-active.

The Statue of Liberty
This
was written by Rosemary LaBonte to the editors of a California
newspaper in response to an article written by Ernie Lujan who suggests
we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the immigrants of
today aren’t being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis
Island and other ports of entry. The paper never printed this
response, so her husband sent it out via internet.
Maybe we
should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan
why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of
immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all
areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a
ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.
Some
would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They
made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good
and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new
American households and some even changed their names to blend in with
their new home.
They had waved goodbye to their birth place to
give their children a new life and did everything in their power to
help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to
them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All
they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them
to trade for a future of prosperity.
Most of their children came
of age when World War II broke out. My father fought alongside men
whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, Ireland,
Greece, France, Poland and Japan. None of these 1st generation
Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had
come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the
Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as
one people.
When we liberated France, no one in those villages
were looking for the French American, the German American or the Irish
American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one
flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons
would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving
it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their
parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly
knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot
into one red, white and blue bowl.
And here we are with a new
kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they
want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that
includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to
their mother country.
I'm sorry, that's not what being an
American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on
Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the
toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a
land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better
life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an
example by those waving foreign country flags.
And for that
suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean
a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I
wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

Hard to argue with this:
This
is one of the best explanations of the Muslim terrorist situation I
have ever read. His references to past history are accurate and clear.
Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read.
The
author of this email is Dr Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and
well-respected psychiatrist. A man, whose family was German
aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries
and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the
answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.
'Very
few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of
German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those
who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just
sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us,
and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come.' My family
lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies
destroyed my factories.
'We are told again and again by
'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is a religion of peace and
that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace.
'Although
this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It
is meaningless fluff meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow
diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name
of Islam.
'The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this
moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics
who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide.
'It is the fanatics
who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout
Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic
wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill. It
is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics
who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and
homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to
become suicide bombers.
'The hard quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.
'Communist
Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet
the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20
million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant.
'China 's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
'The
average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a
warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across
South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic
murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel,
and bayonet.
And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery? Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving?
'History
lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt. Yet for all our powers
of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:
peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
Peace-loving Muslims will become our Enemy if they don't speak up.
Like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the
fanatics own them and the end of their world will have begun.
'Peace-loving
Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis,
Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died
because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
'Now
Islamic prayers have been introduced in Toronto and other public
schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa, too, while the Lord's Prayer
was removed (due to being so offensive? The Islamic way may be peaceful
for the time being in our country until the fanatics move in.
'In
Australia, and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the
most commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just
look at the back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at
other food items in your local supermarket. Food on aircraft have the
halal emblem just to appease the privileged minority who are now
rapidly expanding within the nation's shores.
'In the U.K, the
Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens of
"no-go" zones within major cities across the country that the police
force dare not intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the
Muslim community in those areas refuse to acknowledge British law.
'As
for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group
that counts - the fanatics who threaten our way of life.'
'Lastly,
anyone who doubts that this issue is not serious and just deletes this
email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that
allows the problems to expand.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION...AND "ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION".
Well,
a divided US Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling denying a
President a right to legislate, in accordance with our Constitution and
with 4th grade Civics lessons.
But a legislature should
legislate. And calling any effort to come to a reasonable
conclusion based upon the facts as "amnesty" is not legislating.
It's posturing.
Here's my proposal, with supporting facts.
- Illegals
with any evidence of involvement in the U.S. drug trade, or who commit
any misdemeanor or felony while here should be immediately sent back to
the custody of Mexico, without any chance - forever - for a legal
immigration to this country. If they return illegally, they should
serve a minimum of 10 years in our prison - and then be returned.
- Illegals who came to work and live here - and who have been
doing so without breaking any other of our laws should be considered
"invitees", since they responded to "that great sucking sound" produced
by American business looking for cheap and exploitable labor for their
profits, and to the failure of State and Federal governments to enforce
Immigration Laws long on the books. They should be given Green Cards
and should have a five year path to citizenship open to them.
Constitutionally, they should have the status of "aliens", a protected
class. Their children not born in America should have the same
status. Their children born in America should be considered
citizens.
- We must prevent the further inflow of people
illegally into America from any other country by fencing, military
patrolling, drones...whatever combination is effective. And for
any who succeed in entering despite these measures, stiff fines should
be imposed on any American individual or company who hires them AND on
the Mexican government in the form of commercial penalties and/or in
reduction of financial supports.
As Mel Allen, the storied announcer of the New York Yankees used to say: "HOW ABOUT THAT?"

'70s!!
First,
we survived being born to
mothers who may have smoked and/or drank
while
they were pregnant.
They
took aspirin, ate blue
cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then,
after that trauma, we were
put
to sleep on our tummies
in
baby cribs covered
with
bright coloured lead-based
paints.
We
had no childproof lids on
medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets,
and,
when we rode our bikes,
we
had baseball caps,
not
helmets, on our heads.
As
infants and children, we would
ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air
bags,
bald tires and sometimes no brakes..
Riding
in the back of a pick- up
truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
We
drank water from the garden
hose and not from a bottle.
We
shared one soft drink with
four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.
We
ate cupcakes, white bread,
real butter, and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar.
And we
weren't overweight.
WHY?
Because
we were always outside
playing...that's why!
We
would leave home in the
morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights
came
on.
No
one was able to reach us all
day.
--And,
we were OKAY.
We
would spend hours building
our
go-carts out of scraps
and
then ride them down the hill,
only
to find out we forgot the
brakes.. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve
the
problem..
We
did not have Play Stations,
Nintendos and X-boxes. There were
no
video games, no 150 channels
on cable,
no
video movies or DVDs,
no
surround-sound or CDs,
no
cell phones,
no
personal computers,
no
Internet and no chat rooms.
WE
HAD FRIENDS
and
we went outside and
found them!
We
fell out of trees, got cut,
broke
bones and teeth,
and
there were no lawsuits
from
those accidents.
We
would get spankings with
wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, and no
one
would call child services to report abuse.
We
ate worms, and mud pies
made
from dirt, and
the
worms did not live in us
forever.
We
were given BB guns for our
10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls, and
-although
we were told it would
happen- we did not put out very many eyes.
We
rode bikes or walked to a
friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked
in and
talked to them.
Little
League had tryouts
and
not everyone made the team.
Those
who didn't had to learn
to
deal with disappointment.
Imagine
that!!
The
idea of a
parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually
sided
with the law!
These
generations have produced
some of the best
risk-takers,
problem
solvers, and inventors
ever.
The
past 50 to 85 years have seen
an explosion of innovation and new ideas..
We
had freedom, failure, success
and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.
We
also could publicly express
our belief in God and Our Lord Jesus
without
a challenge from someone
who felt offended by it.
If
YOU are one of those born
between
1925-1970,
CONGRATULATIONS!
You
might want to share this with
others who have had the luck to grow up as kids before the lawyers and
the
government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
While
you are at it, forward it
to your kids, so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were.

POPE FRANCIS, IS IT TIME TO REMOVE THE VELVET GLOVES?
Very
recently there was published by Adam Shaw in Fox News / Opinion an
angry broadside at the Vatican ship of state, and particularly at Pope
Francis. That article is posted In Toto below. Unfortunately,
it
has a lot to commend it...although it comes to a wrong conclusion.
When
Jesus said: "Thou are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build My
Church", I do not believe that He created a rock garden with
Simon/Peter as the first rock among equals.
In my opinion as a
life-long and faithful Roman Catholic, the Church has made and clings
to a number of serious self-inflicted wounds, especially since its
marginalization and even dismissal of the spirit and work of Vatican ll
and of Pope John XXlll. In recent years I have discussed some of these
in my section entitled "Catholic Church: What's Wrong With The Catholic
Church" (in www.asthma.drsprecace.com)
These
include its prohibition against non-abortifacient contraception, its
position that a "unitive" function of sex requires that Every act of
sexual intercourse must be open to conception, its continued
condemnation of homosexuality long after that inclination has been
proven in most cases to be the result of biologic developments in
gestation, and even its position that divorced and re-married Catholics
cannot receive Holy Communion, our central act of Faith and Hope.
In
my opinion, Pope Francis should, unilaterally and "Ex Cathedra" if
necessary, either declare these positions unchanged - or change them!
Practicing Catholics, the "Body of the Church", have a right to expect
to have a true compass from their Church. Then they can
decide
individually what course to set.
This is what should take place in this "Year of Mercy". It would be
truly merciful.

It was very satisfying having that animated discussion at Muddy Waters.
We certainly went "from 0 to 60 in 6 seconds". And that's good.
I have read the paper you sent. I suggest that we leave a
paragraph by paragraph review for when we can also enjoy
some wine and dessert at my home.
My knowledge of Russian history goes back just a few centuries.
However, my insight into Western civilization is much more robust. I
offer herewith a brief synopsis, which has one constant denominator:
the constant quest for the rights of the individual vs the rule of the
collective.

As "England and America are two peoples separated by a common

It's true. If you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns.
After
many decades of glamorizing violence, ignoring mental illness, enabling
illicit drug use and criminal recidivism, this is where we
are.
Of
course, the gun opponents will be out in force: not those espousing
reasonable regulation, but those demanding confiscation from citizens
asserting their right under the Constitution. Wrong conclusion...and
too late for that.
Rather, those citizens who have a gun permit
obtained legally and reasonably and who wish to protect themselves from
the maniacs among us should be allowed to "conceal carry", to protect
themselves and also the rest. This is becoming all the more

Donald
Trump (I still can't believe this is happening) is a classic blowhard
with obvious megalomaniacal delusions of grandeur. We all
know
this, probably including many of his supporters; at least the ones with
a shred of intellectually honesty. Donald Trump himself
probably
knows this. And, his Presidency would very likely be a
national-level repeat of Arnold Schwarzenegger's governorship of
California. He can bluster all he wants about the laundry
list of
things he will get done, and policies he will change with a mighty wave
of his hand and stroke of his pen. But, in the end he will
still
have to deal with the political process.
A process that, for all
its gross inefficiency, shameless partisanship, and blatant corruption
remains the 800-lb. gorilla in the room. Maybe the abject
rage
that so many people feel about this system (Trump supporters, Sanders
supporters, and plain old pissed-off independents like me) will be
enough to get Trump into the White House. As I noted to a
friend
about Trump's reasons for surviving as he has, I believe that much of
the energy behind it is purely emotional, purely instinctual, purely
reactionary; like the irresistible, unnerving urge to scratch an itch.
Fine,
I grant all of this. And, maybe this is the sort of primal
scream
that is required to shatter the glacier that has slowly enveloped the
Federal Government over the last fifty years. I can live with
that; do you know why?
Because Hillary Clinton can not be
allowed anywhere neeeeaaarrrr the Presidency of the United
States--ev-verrrrr. Not only would she be a third (and/or

you recall when the President referred to the Benghazi incident as "a
bump in the road?" Today, I heard an ex-Navy Seal being
interviewed on Fox News regarding a book he had written about how to
handle crisis situations in our lives.

interview he asked if he could make a comment on Benghazi, and of
course the anchor said "yes." He then thanked Fox News for
keeping the Benghazi story in the news, since other news organizations
are not.
He said the Seals who died deserve the public
knowing the truth about the whole affair. The poem was
written by
an anonymous Marine Corps officer:

say, I want a divorce. Secession is for me. I don’t see any way out of
it. Half the country wants freedom of responsibility and the other half

should. Bankers are no longer bankers. They are Gov’t agents, even more
now with “Dodd/Frank”. “No man can borrow unless another man saves” has
been replaced with “no man can borrow unless another man is taxed”. The
GSEs (Gov’t Sponsored Enterprises) and their secondary markets have
ruined the banking industry. The loans no longer come from depositors’
money. The loans come from the taxes collected by the Gov’t. And where
do the little folks deposit there money now, in the stock market?
Really?
The first question a business must ask itself these days
is not what’s the market doing, what’s R&D say, what’s the
price
point? No, it’s, what are the tax implications? The business with the
best lobbyist gets the most favorable tax code and makes the most
money. We need a flat tax. And more important, we need term
limits!
The deformation of capitalism is complete. Mercantilists
could only dream of this kind of system; Fascists would be amazed at
how well disguised the use of force has become, how easily employed and

For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest
grade policy I
can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482
per
month.
For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per
month.
That's right, $1 per month. I'm not making this up.
Don't believe me? Just go to http://www.coveredca.gov/ ,
the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I've
mentioned
above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You'll
need to
enter that.
So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost
burden of
healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners.
But there's a lot more to it. Stick with me.
And before I make my next points, I'd like you to think about something:
I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land
mass but
just 426,000 residents - about the population of Colorado Springs or
the city of
Omaha.
But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of
illegal
aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a
massive,
Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about
one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly
plant in
Belvedere, Illinois (per Google Earth)
Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography and
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and
much more.
If you have no insurance, if you've been in a drive-by shooting or have
overdosed
on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it's essentially free,
because
almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.
Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born
to
out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic.
Less than 20% could demonstrate proof of citizenship, and 71% listed
their native
language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered under
[any kind
of] private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836.
And in case you were wondering about the entire population - all 2,735
births - less
than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of
the
patient to the hospital in exchange for services. Keep this in mind as
we move
forward.
Now consider this:
If I want to upgrade my policy to a low-deductible premium policy, such
as what I had
with my last employer, my cost is $886 per month.
But my girlfriend can upgrade her policy to the very same level, for
just $4 per
month.
That's right, $4 per month. $48 per year for a zero-deductible, premium
healthcare
policy - the kind of thing you get when you work at IBM (except of
course, IBM
employees pay an average of $170 per month out of pocket for their
coverage).
I mean, it's bad enough that I will be forced to subsidize the
ObamaCare scheme in
the first place. But even if I agreed with the basic scheme, which of
course I
do not, I would never agree to subsidize premium policies.
If I have to pay $482 a month for a budget policy, I sure as hell do
not want the guy
I'm subsidizing to get a better policy, for less than 1% of what I have
to fork
out each month for a low-end policy.
Why must I pay $482 per month for something the other guy gets for a
dollar? And why should the other guy get to buy an $886 policy for $4 a
month?
Think about this: I have to pay $10,632 a year for the same thing that
the other guy
can get for $48.
$10,000 of net income is 60 days of full time work as an engineer; $48
is something I
could make collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles, one day a
month. Are you with me on this? Are you starting to get an idea what
ObamaCare is really
about?
ObamaCare is not about dealing with inequities in the healthcare
system. That's just the
cover story. The real story is that it is a massive, political power
grab.
Do you think anyone who can insure himself with a premium policy for $4
a month
will vote for anyone but the political party that provides him such a
deal? ObamaCare is about enabling, subsidizing, and expanding the
Left's political power base, at taxpayer expense.
Why would I vote for anyone but a Democrat if I can have babies for $4
a
month?
For that matter, why would I go to college or strive for a better job
or income if
it means I have to pay real money for healthcare coverage? Heck, why
study
engineering when I can be a schlub for $20K per year and buy a new
F-150 with
all the money I'm saving?
And think about those $4-a-month babies - think in terms of propagation
models.
Think of just how many babies will be born to irresponsible,
under-educated
mothers. Will we get a new crop of brain surgeons and particle
physicists from
the dollar baby club, or will we need more cops, criminal courts and
prisons?
One thing you can be certain of: At $4 a month, they'll multiply, and
multiply, and
multiply. ObamaCare: It's all about political power.

1) Obama on Supreme Court nominees: the Law Professor doesn't know his

2) The Nation is indeed divided, seriously so. And the bums who
physically attack Trump event attendees are playing with fire. So are
the adolescent idiots in "institutions of higher learning" who attack

3) The depressive statement attributed to Rev. Frank Graham, quoted in
part here:

Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville,
Florida in January, 2015, when he said America will not come
back. He wrote:
The American dream ended on November 6th,
2012 in Ohio. The second term of Barack Obama has been the

nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who
discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest
republic in the history of mankind.
A coalition of blacks,
Latinos, feminists, gays,government workers, union members,
environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young
people, the "forever needy," the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens
and other "fellow travelers"
have ended Norman Rockwell's America.
You
will never again out-vote these people. It will take
individual

Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and the likes of Chicago shyster David
Axelrod along with international socialist George Soros have been
pulling the strings on their beige puppet have brought us Act 2 of the
New World Order.
The curtain will come down but the damage has been done, the story has
been told.
Those
who come after us will once again have to risk their lives, their
fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this
generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and political
correctness...

praying.
This incident took place at a recent ceremony honoring the birthday of

corps, and it has the ACLU up in arms.
"These
are federal employees," says Lucius Traveler,
a spokesman for the ACLU,
"on federal property and on federal time... For them to pray is clearly
an
establishment of religion, and we must nip this in the bud
immediately."
When
asked about the ACLU's charges, Colonel Jack Fessender, speaking
for the Commandant of the Corps said,
"Screw the ACLU, GOD Bless Our Warriors. Send the ACLU to Afghanistan
and
then watch those SONS OF BITCHES pray."
