RAPID RESPONSE (Archives)...Daily Commentary on News of the Day
This is a new section.  It will offer fresh, quick reactions by myself to news and events of the day, day by day, in this rapid-fire world of ours.  Of course, as in military campaigns, a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction.  Charge that to "the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or military campaign must maintain to be effective.  But the mission will always be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick", supported by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be pro-active.  That's all I promise.

THURSDAY through WEDNESDAY, July 25 through 31, 2013

Well, it's time for another edition of "Pot Pourri".

Why?  Because my blood pressure is rising.

But first, a READING LIST.

If you want to stay informed, without risking your

powers of rational thought, peruse these regularly:

The Wall Street Journal

Foreign Affairs

Time Magazine

The Day (www,theday.com)
Anything by Charles Krauthammer

The Sunday Review section of the New York Times,

but Not the daily NYTimes!

There.  I feel much better now.

I hope that this is for real.  But real or not, it's right on point.

"The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a
living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living."

On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian
president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about
the tensions with minorities in Russia :

"In Russia live Russians.” Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live
in Russia , to work and eat in Russia , should speak Russian, and should
respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to
go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need
minorities. Minorities need Russia , and we will not grant them special
privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how
loud they yell 'discrimination'. We better learn from the suicides of
America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The
Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture
or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative
body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national
interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.

SUNDAY through TUESDAY

Folks,

last night's Talking Points Memo by Bill O'Reilly was the best that I have seen

by anyone on the subject...except by me during the previous days as posted on my

Rapid Response section of my web-site (www.asthma-drsprecace.com).

"No Brag.  Just Fact".  Seriously, this is a Must Watch, found at

http://www.billoreilly.com/b/Mike-Huckabee:-The-value-of-life-in-America/-216492375519598227.html as a video.

Do yourselves a favor and watch it in its entirety.  Then, to modify the current saying:

"WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING...DO SOMETHING!"

Watch this, then ask yourself, how did we get here?

This gentleman's video on YouTube has been so popular that Obama is said to have called him personally and invited him to the White House.

That's very interesting.

Watch it now before it's pulled from YouTube.

This may be the best six minutes invested in your future.

FRIDAY, July 19, 2013

FOR A PRESIDENT WHO HAS NOT HAD TOO MANY STELLAR MOMENTS, THIS IS ONE OF THEM. What now? How about promoting two parent family life for Black children, instead of having destroyed it through 40 years of toxic Welfare rules? How about calling out the life of gangs, drugs, petty and great criminality, and denigration of their women as a lethal disease instead of an "alternative life style"? How about giving them an education with choice instead of a "Public Educaton" rotten at the core? And how about teaching personal responsibility instead of "entitlement"? Try that, and we'll all be with you.

Obama: Trayvon Martin ‘could have been me 35 years ago’ - Yahoo! News

MONDAY through THURSDAY, July 15 through 18, 2013

THE VERDICT...AND THE AFTERMATH...

Please see my comment in this section, written July 13, 2013, within minutes of seeing and hearing the verdict in the Zimmerman case.

So much for expecting and hoping for a rational reaction from elements of the public.

First let me offer a general comment directed toward those who are denigrating the American Justice System, including by violent words and actions: !@#$%^&*(!.

Now, let 's list some of the negative commentaries, especially those coming from that sad lot that pass for the "leadership of the Black Community".

"America is still a racist nation".

A Black person can't get justice in the courts.

Trayvon Martin was just a child.  He needs to be avenged .

Zimmerman should be charged with a Hate Crime.

etc., etc., etc.

Indeed, after publishing an informative and balanced article by Mike Schneider of the AP on July 14, the Editorial Board of  The Day (www.theday.com) issued an outrageous diatribe on the subject.  Congratulations!

And now, let's make some observations.

America is not a racist nation.  Indeed, the most racist of Americans are many prominent Black "leaders" and their lemming-like followers.

Many Black people get plenty of justice in the courts, thanks to their irresponsibility, as witnessed by the percentage of Black people who populate our prisons.

Trayvon Martin was not a child.  He knew where he was and what he was doing.  Unfortunately, he did it at the wrong time, on that fateful night.  And his case received impartial American justice that applied the applicable law - and not raw emotion - to the available facts.

For George Zimmerman to be charged with a Hate Crime, given the available facts already found in a Court of Law, would be prosecutorial misconduct - and would be tantamount to Double Jeopardy.

There is one probable long-term tragedy that will result from these actions following announcement of the trial outcome. The vast majority of non-biased, non-racist Americans who have for decades been supportive of the efforts of Blacks to improve themselves will silently direct their outrage, which I am expressing directly here, in all sorts of indirect and subtle ways.  And Blacks won't be able to figure out why they are constantly being left behind.  This outcome is not guaranteed; but if they continue the above approach...you can bank on it.  What a shame that would be for a potentially noble Race.

Quote of the day by Dianne Feinstein
Dianne Feinstein:
"All vets are mentally ill and government should prevent them from owning firearms"
Yep, - she really said it on Thursday in a meeting in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. . and the quote below from the LA Times is priceless.
Some times even the L.A. Times gets it right.
Kurt Nimmo: "Senator Feinstein insults all U.S. Veterans as she flays about in a vain attempt to save her bill."
Quote of the Day from the Los Angeles Times:
"Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're Number One. There's no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on 'Macbeth'. The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab. You don't know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words."
-- Columnist Burt Prelutsky, Los Angeles Times

SATURDAY, July 13, 2013 @ 10:47 PM

THE VERDICT...

As is always my approach in a criminal trial, I wait for the jury

to tell me what happened.  Only the jury can have all the available

facts, all the evidence that is "more probative than prejudicial".

The jury has arrived at its decision.

My only serious disappointment relates to the strong efforts by

some in the community, by some of what sadly passes for

"Black Leadership", and even by the Prosecution - including as

late as during final summation - to inject and play a "race card"

with all of its attendant emotional baggage.

At one point, the Prosecutor asked rhetorically whether, if Martin

had been the neighborhood watchman, self-defense would be

considered a plausible defense.  In fact, I had already asked and

answered that question for myself a long time ago: of course!

The verdict would have and should have been the same.

Once again, our system of criminal justice has proven itself worthy

of our confidence.  In fact, the weak link in that system is the occasional

evidence, often years or decades after the injustice perpetrated, of

prosecutorial misconduct, always an outrage.

Now, at long last, can we stop injecting Race and race-baiting into rational

discussions of our serious societal problems?

IN CASE YOU MISSED ANY OF THESE STORIES...

It is very important that you closely inspect the 1934 cartoon below. Keep in mind there were Communist and Marxist operatives in the U.S.A. in 1934, when we were in the middle of the Great Depression. This cartoon was in the Chicago Tribune in 1934. Look carefully at the Communist’s "Plan of Action" in the lower left corner.

Does this seem familiar? Remember the adage: "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." To parody the words of Winston Churchill, "Never have so many been manipulated so much by so few.”

THE LAST STATEMENTS: "TRUE, TRUE...AND RELATED!"

GS

The Darwin 's are OUT !

Yes, it's that magical time of year again when the Darwin Awards are
bestowed, honoring the least evolved among us.

Here is the glorious winner:

1. When his 38 caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended victim
during a hold-up in Long Beach , California would-be robber James
Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down the
barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked. And now, the
honorable mentions:

2. The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in a meat cutting
machine and after a little shopping around, submitted a claim to his
insurance company. The company expecting negligence sent out one of
its men to have a look for himself. He tried the machine and he also
lost a finger.. The chef's claim was approved.

3.. A man who shoveled snow for an hour to clear a space for his car
during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his vehicle to find a woman
had taken the space. Understandably, he shot her.

4.. After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a Zimbabwean bus
driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to be
transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. Not wanting to admit
his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop and offered
everyone waiting there a free ride.. He then delivered the passengers
to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were very
excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies...... The deception wasn't
discovered for 3 days.

5. An American teenager was in the hospital recovering from serious
head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how he
received the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying
to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was
hit.

6. A man walked into a Louisiana Circle-K, put a $20 bill on the
counter, and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer,
the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which
the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and
fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter.. The total amount of cash
he got from the drawer... $15. [If someone points a gun at you and
gives you money, is a crime committed?]

7. Seems an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty badly... He decided
that he'd just throw a cinder block through a liquor store window,
grab some booze, and run. So he lifted the cinder block and heaved it
over his head at the window. The cinder block bounced back and hit the
would-be thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. The liquor store
window was made of Plexiglas. The whole event was caught on
videotape...

8. As a female shopper exited a New York convenience store, a man
grabbed her purse and ran. The clerk called 911 immediately, and the
woman was able to give them a detailed description of the snatcher.
Within minutes, the police apprehended the snatcher. They put him in
the car and drove back to the store. The thief was then taken out of
the car and told to stand there for a positive ID. To which he
replied, "Yes, officer, that's her. That's the lady I stole the purse
from."

9. The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man walked into a
Burger King in Ypsilanti , Michigan at 5 A.M., flashed a gun, and
demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't
open the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered
onion rings, the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast...
The man, frustrated, walked away. [*A 5-STAR STUPIDITY AWARD WINNER]

10. When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked
on a Seattle street by sucking on a hose, he got much more than he
bargained for.. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man
curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman
said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline, but he plugged
his siphon hose into the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The
owner of the vehicle declined to press charges saying that it was the
best laugh he'd ever had and the perp had been punished enough!

In the interest of bettering mankind, please share these with friends
and family...unless of course one of these individuals by chance is a
distant relative or long lost friend. In that case, be glad they are
distant and hope they remain lost.

Remember they walk among us, they can reproduce, and they VOTE!

TUESDAY through SATURDAY, July 3 through 6, 2013

As I have already observed, what is needed to avert a World War lll between the world of Islam and the rest of the world is a civil war between moderate Muslims and the fundamentalist theocratic crazies.  Developments particularly in Egypt, and to a lesser extent in Turkey, should be considered and supported as the beginning of that civil war.  Meanwhile, the centuries - old conflicts between Shia and Sunni sects of Islam, and between Alowites and others are merely power-plays to determine who continues to enslave the People.  America was sucked into a prolonged war in Iraq without prior understanding of that fact.  These realities should form the basis for our national foreign policy in those areas.

Is the Obama Administration smart enough and educable enough to realize that? And are our leaders courageous enough to place that understanding ahead of naive preconceptions of the world and of crass politics?
