POOR PUBLIC EDUCATION...AND THAT GREAT SUCKING SOUND

An article in the Wall Street Journal, Thursday October 7, 2004, gives further insight into the implications of the failure of public school education in this country in many areas ("Bad Schools + Shackled Principals = Outsourcing", by Louis V. Gerstner Jr. (Opinion, pA18). This former chairman of IBM states one of the real reasons for the loss of jobs - good jobs - from this country. Of course, you will never hear any of this from the unions or from the politicians, who preFer scapegoats and magic potions to real medicine. Wake up, folks...we're losing our family jewels.
