Flu 2000-2001

Please see also the offering entitled, Flu 2000.

This year the availability of Flu Vaccine will be delayed, because of production problems, until October.
The Flu vaccine should be received yearly, probably by all adults, and also by all children with recurring respiratory diseases or other chronic conditions.

Pneumovax, a vaccine against the dangerous pneumococcus bacterium, should also be received by the same groups.  This vaccine is repeated only once every six years, according to current guidelines.

Vaccines work.  They are the cheapest and most effective form of prevention and protection.  Side effects are generally rare and mild.
